Business cards. Make the
front nice looking and easy to read. Your business
name should be the most visible then your websites
URL, your name and your email address. While your
phone number may be optional it is better to have
it there!
The back of your business
card! This is a great place to add a
discount offer.
You can easily do this buy buying the smaller
clear or white labels and print them on your
computer. That way you can use them when you want
to such as Holidays and special offers. OR trade
the back of you card with someone and put their
label on your and your label on their card! Free
networking and advertising for both of you!
Treat each and every customer with
the same respect whether it is a
small or a very large order. Small orders can add
up. A reg. small order customer can be as good as
a 1 time large order customer!
Sending out orders If you
send out your own orders put in your business card
and brochures if you have them. Allot of wahms put
in 2 or 3 business cards, flyers amd/ or brochures
so the person receiving the order can pass along
the extra business card and such to their friends.
Mompack .com website is a great place to become a
free member of and be part of the mompack filler
program!
Advertising-on your car Car
web decals are a great way to do this. Their
affordable and effective. Let others know about
your business when you drive and when your parked,
especially places like the mall. We recommend
Webdecal.com
Domain name. They are easy
to get and having one only makes sense!
Your web host can usually help you with this or
you can register your own at places like www.registerfly.com
Prices range from $9 to $15 a year usually. Choose
a name that you like but on that is also easy to
read, remember and say.
Evenif you have a company website as allot of
party plan and independent reps do you can still
have a domain name of your own and do it as a
redirect to your company website. Looks better
then www company website . com/your name
No to Free Webhosts!
Don’t use a free web host if you want to be
taken as a serious business website! If you want
to do business on the web, don't do it with a free
site like tripoid, geocities, etc. etc. Most
people are not going to buy something from
non-professional site-they got pop ups,
advertising etc. . Web hosting is affordable and
not
expensive. You can get it for less than $5-8 a
month.
The look of your website
It should be nice looking and can be
either a more professional looking one or a
country style one using graphics. Just don’t go
over board on the graphics.
Whichever one you choose make sure it is user
friendly! Easy to find contact information,
website directory and a home page button. All 3
should be on every page. If your contact info is
not easy for visitors to find they just might
become customers at someone else website!
Website ad ons
We all know music is enjoyable to listen
to and who doesn’t like falling stars BUT do
they belong on your website?
A-Music can be a real turn off to
visitors! If you HAVE to have it then place a “
Turn Music OFF” button in a real easy to find
spot!
B-And the trailing stars, angels or
whatever that follow the visitors mouse. It can be
cute to you but if it annoys your visitors then
rethink having it. Sometimes the trailing stars
can block the words on your website making the
visitor move the mouse to the side to read and
view your site fully. Kind of like when your child
stands in front of the TV with a flashlite or two
waving them around.
C- Hit counters. While they are
ready available for free they do tell the visitor
how many others have been to your site. A new site
will show maybe 35 have been there and is that
what a new site wants to show? Plus if you have
ever been to a site that has one usually hitting
the refresh button on your computer you can add
hits to the counter. Real visitors/ potential
customers who are looking for gifts or products to
purchase don’t care about your hit counter!
Website Content. Website
content is things such as articles and product
tips.
A wahm work at home resource website should have
some resource articles on it as most visitors expect them. But if you sell merchandise, perhaps
candles, baby items, jewelry etc. etc then having
a “ care for tips” and even articles about
your product or in the same category will show the
visitors / customers that you took the extra steps
to show you cared enough about them as customers
to add those extra touches. Content on pages also
helps in search engines placement.
Participate in the mompack filler
program This was somewhat mention above to
worthy of it’s own category since they can be
very effective for free wahm business advertising.
We are familiar with themompack program but we do
know other ones who are newer are popping up
everyday.
A lead in page to your
company website. A lead in page is often seen when
a person has a party plan or other business
website and they cannot add things to it making it
their own personnel touch. You can find websites
that will for a reasonable fee offer you a 1 or 2
page lead in and link page or you can buy a mini
website and do it yourself using frontpage or
other website programs.
Plus if you do this you can also participate in
link exchanges and affiliate programs
Link exchanges!
Link exchanges is a must do and have on your
website whether it is a product or resource site.
Exchanging links with other sites you have a similar
connections to also creates both incoming and
outgoing links for your site and the other persons
site. Visitors at your site looking for a product
you do not carry are glad to see links to other
sites ( wahm's in business) you feel confident in
exchange links with. And vise versa also.
Think of it as a friendly referral.
Plus those incoming links to your website also
help the search engines find your site and crawl
it to be indexed. But linking to to many non
related sites can in the end hurt you. If your a
family friendly site then be sure your not linking
to a site that has some adult pages or information
on even if you have to look a few pages intp their
website. Be linking friendly and wise!
Have a non online business friend
look at your website.
Sometimes we get to into our businesses
and websites and cannot see how non wahm business
owners look for things on the net. Having a friend
or 2 who are not website people who you can ask
questions to is helpful! Ask them if they were to
look in the search engines for products or
services such as your what keywords would they
use.
