 don't be shy asking them how long
 they have been in business and to see samples of designs even. ( portfolio) 
Allot of websites have their hosts name at the bottom of the pages also.
It can't hurt to ask around if your looking for Hosting or Designing
Your website is in their hands so don't be afraid to ask questions!

Web Hosting
We use TheDesignShoppe.com for our web hosting and we turned to them when it came to our websites design also.
There are others we know of that are quality and offer hosting at affordable prices
Just be sure if you have any questions to ask them before you decide on a host or you could end up changing hosts a few months down the line

Web Design- Logo's and Banners
We used TheDesignShoppe for our design here at WAHM'S Network
When you find a web designer just make sure you both see the same vision when it comes to design and layout. One person vision is not always the others so be sure to speak up and ask for what you want - our paying for it after all!

Most of our partner Sites  ( in our partners box below) offer affordable Advertising for moms and whams. Mall and directory style listings cab be affordable and effective! Plus banner ad.

We also highly recommend a links exchange page We use text Links as it allows the businesses we exchange links with to add a few words about there business but we like allot of other business promoting websites offer banner ads that are also an effective way to spend your money. Only you know your budget so you need to decide how and where to spend those $. If your on a supportive group then often you can find someone to barter with for banner ads!
